5 Reasons Why Kids Love Mallorca

Mallorca is the perfect island for children of all ages. There is so much fun to be had, lots to learn and plenty to explore. Beaches

Plenty of the beaches in Mallorca are kid-friendly with soft sand for building sand castles and plenty of fish to look at. There are beach restaurants around, perfect for sipping a cocktail, while watching your kids play in the sand. You will also find lots of caves to explore and marine life to see in the rock pools. The beaches also offer activities such as kayaking, paddle-boarding, windsurf lessons and snorkelling. Cala Varques beach is a great spot for snorkelling and for sailing and surfing schools Playa Esperanza is the go to spot!

Water Parks

Who doesn’t love a day splashing around and riding the waterslides! The perfect day out for all the family as there are areas for younger children and cafes to sit and enjoy a yummy snack in the sunshine. Near-perfect weather all summer makes a day spent in cool waters a delectable choice. The three on the island include Western Waterpark in Magaluf, Hidropark in Alcudia and Aqualand in El Arenal.

Horse Riding

There are plenty of riding stables on the island. Some offer trail rides through the stunning Tramuntana mountains with little picnic stops along the way alongside learning a little about the land, oranges and of course the ponies! Other stables offer riding lessons either private or with a group where kids can learn different skills and make friends!

All Things Nature

Mallorca has lots of exciting wildlife! A great spot to explore is off the Mallorcan west coast called Sa Dragonera which translates to “the dragon isle”. This little rock formation is home to plenty of little lizards that are super cute and fun to watch! Another way to get your dose of wildlife is the S’Albufera nature reserve where you can hike or bike your way around. This is a great bird watching spot!

Site Seeing

If your kids love the water then a boat trip on a glass bottom boat to see the wild dolphins or whales is a must. The summer is a perfect time to try and spot them and your kids will love watching the ocean through the glass bottom of the boat and seeing little fish dotted about!

For more sightseeing, the vintage orange train that runs from Palma to Soller is famous for watching the stunning landscape and don’t forget to bring your swimmers as the beach in Port de Soller is pristine and lined with great restaurants!
